Many East Texans have fun memories of attending VBS at a local church during their childhood. Here's a list of local VBS's that you might like to allow your kids to attend to make some fun summer memories of their own!

New Hope Baptist Church - 9455 State Hwy 155 South, Big Sandy, Texas 75755 (Between Big Sandy and Pritchett Community on Hwy 155) Vacation Bible School - Presenting "God's Amazing Wonders Aviation" by Lifeway - July 16th - July 20th from 9am to Noon daily.- Ages 4 yrs old thru completion of 6th grade. Parents Night and Musical will be Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 5pm. First Methodist Hallsville invites all children from Age 3 to 6th grade to get ready to dive into fun at Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep With God Vacation Bible School. Explore and experience God’s underwater universe at VBS! The fun begins July 22 and ends July 26 from 5:30 untl 8:30 pm. You may register online at www.fumchallsville.org/vbs .

First United Methodist Church-306 Scurry St., Daingerfield July 9-12, 6:00-8:30 - Ages 3-5th grade - Babylon- Daniel's Courage in Captivity - Daniel was way more than the guy who survived a den of hungry lions!Travel back to Babylon and join Daniel--torn from his home and forced into the king's service. Imagine the pressure of learning a new language and culture…and the shock of discovering your best friends have been tossed into a fiery furnace. Explore exotic sights and smells in a Babylonian bazaar! Kids and adults will find that they're not much different from Daniel and his friends, who kept their faith in a faithless culture. VBS this summer at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline. We will be diving into Operation Overboard the week of July 23-27 for grades Pre-K through 6th Grade. We will discover the wonders of God's underwater universe and the depths His Word each day from 9:00 to 12:00, where we will Dare to go Deep with God!

St. Michael & All Angels' Episcopal Church - 909 Reel Road, Longview, Join St. Michael's for a Weekend VBS, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 13-15th!! Friday and Saturday night we will begin at 5:30pm and go until 8:00pm. On Sunday, we will begin at 9:00am and go through 12:30pm including the worship service and a Pot Luck Lunch! During the fun and activities throughout the weekend kids AND adults will be "Shining God's Light!" The kids and adults will be making items for the Food Pantry at St. Michael's (Shining God's Light in Longview) and making backpacks to be distributed in Belize (Shining God's Light around the world). Longview Christian Church (903)758-6868 - July 22-26 6:00pm-8:30pm - LCC Sports and More 2012 Play to Lose is a VBS (Vacation Bible School) focused on learning what it means to lose yourself for Jesus. Kids what it means to lose your life and live for Jesus. They will also be able to choose a sport or creative interest to develop their skills. Sports Camps are free, so please register, and pass on the word. Opening Night on Sunday is a fun filled FAMILY event to get things started. Each child should be accompanied by an adult for the entire evening (the rest of the week we just ask that children are escorted in and later picked up in the auditorium). So, bring the whole family, get stretched out, sharpen those skills, it will be a night of active fun.
