Tyler ISD launches Ambassador program | Families
From Tyler ISD:
Tyler ISD, along with various other districts across the State, is partnering with the Friends of Texas Public Schools (FOTPS) organization to revitalize the image of Texas public schools. Over the next few months, administrators and selected District employees will complete an Ambassador Training Academy sponsored by the FOTPS.
The Ambassador Training Academy is a professional development program designed to change the conversation about Texas public schools from the inside out. “This training addresses attitudes and mindsets, helping each member of the profession step up as ambassadors for themselves, their classrooms, campuses, district and profession,” said Gary Mooring, Superintendent of Schools.
The program is designed to unite campus and district staff around the organization’s purpose and strengthen the culture of brotherhood among those who work in the schools. Participants learn how the poser of professional unity profoundly impacts the profession and why this culture of brotherhood is an essential element of any successful organization. The forces that weaken public trust and confidence in public education are discussed, as well as strategies for restoring public pride, hope, optimism, and confidence in the education profession.
