Boil water notice for Jackson Water Supply Corporation | News
SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV)- The Jackson Water Supply Corporation has issued a boil water notice for the following service area:
South of Highway 31 East and North of CR 223.
Due to conditions which have occurred recently Jackson Water Supply PWS 2120016, the Texas commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the system to notify involved customers to boil their water prior to consumption.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be boiled and brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify.
