Local skater takes first

Skyler Siljeg of Mukilteo competed in the 3rd annual World Cup Skateboarding event "Rock the Cradle," last Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Houston, Texas. Sky gave it all he had - and came home with a first place Pro. division win.

Sky beat out well-known skaters Kevin Kowalski (2nd place) and Bucky Lasek (3rd). 

The event is an annual fundraiser for the Johnny Kicks Cancer Foundation. It is invitation only, and was Sky's first win in a pro. division competition.

Archbishop Murphy wins at home, 45-28

The Archbishop Murphy High School Wildcats faced off against the John F. Kennedy High School Lancers in KOMO 4 News 4 Football Friday game of the week.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead against the Lancers and never let it go.  For Archbishop Murphy's second touchdown of the game, QB Austin VanderWel completed a pass to his little brother Hans VanderWel.  That score put them up 12-7.

This was the tenth anniversary for the Archbishop Murphy football program and they celebrated that anniversary with a 45-28 win.

Kennedy battles Archbishop Murphy

John F. Kennedy High School took on fellow catholic school rival Archbishop Murphy High School on KOMO 4 News 4 Football Friday game of the week.

The Lancers and the Wildcats had a shoot out Friday night, with 73 points total being scored in the game.  Even though Kennedy started the game down, they still fought hard all game.

Damian Brooks had a Prep Play of the Week nomination for KOMO Sports with a 78 yard kickoff return for a touchdown breaking several tackles to do it.

The Lancers eventually fell to the Wildcats, 45-28.
